The Conjuring / Annabelle and why they’re the worst
A lot of people are taken in by horror movies with claims “based on a true story.” 2013’s The Conjuring and this year’s Annabelle are no exceptions.
But let’s talk about the Warrens for a sec and what support of these films really means. The Warrens are bible thumpers, plain and simple.
Don’t get me wrong; I have nothing against those with a belief in God as long as there isn’t persecution of others. However, Lorraine Warren is extremely judgmental of those who don’t share her narrow-minded religious views. Take her many quotes.
"Mrs. Warren said last week that one of her biggest concerns about the Harrisville haunting was the family’s lack of religious faith. “At that particular time, the people did not have religion,” she said. “It was very dangerous."
Those who aren’t religious are basically minions of Satan to this ridiculous crackpot. I’m not just talking atheists either. To Lorraine Warren, Agnostics are just as bad.
There are many skeptics who place much doubt in the Warrens’ accounts as well.
So when you go see Annabelle, you’re not just getting a scary movie about a doll…which has never been done before…oh wait except like a million other movies. One such example is Child’s Play, but that film had the decency not to bullshit anyone that it was a true story. But remember, when you go to see this, you’re giving support to a bible thumper whack-job. 👍😓
